Coffee FAQ's
What types of coffee do you offer?
We specialise in specialty coffee roasted fresh to order. Our selection includes single-origin coffees from around the world and carefully crafted blends. Each coffee comes with detailed tasting notes and origin information to help you choose the perfect cup.
How fresh is your coffee?
All our coffee is roasted to order and typically shipped within 1 week of roasting. We include the roast date on every bag so you know exactly how fresh your coffee is.
Coffee roasted on our Loring Roaster typically requires a significantly longer degassing and resting time than coffee from a traditional drum roaster. We rest all coffee served in our cafes for at least one week before serving to ensure the very best possible flavor for our customers.
We roast our coffee to order, though occasionally your coffee may have been roasted up to seven days before delivery. We aim to dispatch within 48 hours of ordering. Our roastery doesn’t operate at weekends, and timings can vary during busy periods.
Store your coffee sealed in a cool, dry place, away from sunlight and heat.
If you’re buying whole bean, grind what you need just before brewing. Give those beans a little breather. As a starting point, allow 1–2 days after roasting for filter coffee, or 5–10 days for espresso. These are guides, not deadlines: your brewing setup and taste have the final say.
250g or 1kg?
Go for 250g if you brew less often or like to switch things up.
Choose 1kg if you enjoy our coffee on the daily or if you’re sharing coffee duties.
How should I store my coffee?
Store your coffee beans in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Keep them in the original bag or an airtight container. For best flavour, consume within 3 months of the roast date. Avoid storing coffee in the fridge or freezer.
What grind size should I choose?
- Whole Bean: Best for maximum freshness (grind just before brewing)
- Coarse: Pour over, French press - Cafetière, Cold Brew
- Medium: AeroPress
- Fine: Espresso, Moka pot
If you're unsure, we recommend whole bean and grinding at home.
How do subscriptions work?
Our coffee subscriptions are simple and flexible. Choose how often you’d like coffee — bi-weekly, or monthly — and we’ll roast, pack, and ship it fresh to your door. You’ll often receive coffees before they’re released publicly, and the selection updates on the 21st of each month to keep things varied and interesting.
You’re always in control. You can pause, skip, change your delivery frequency, update your details, or cancel at any time through your account or by email. Changes take effect right away if made before your next billing date — just give us at least 3 days’ notice if you need to adjust an upcoming delivery.
We have a range of different subscriptions to suit everyone. Check them out in Subscriptions
